Climate leaders met in Burgos
On the 2nd of December 2022, Escan Energy Consulting, partner of the European project REMARKABLE, with support from Sodebur and the Burgos City Council, organized a workshop in Burgos, Spain.
The participants of the Regional Energy Agency of Castilla y León (EREN), the Society for the Development of the Province of Burgos (SODEBUR), the Municipal Energy Agency of Valladolid (AEMVA), municipalities of Burgos, Belorado, Sargentes de la Lora and Montilla, shared their ideas and actions of the Climate Leadership Programme of the project designed with and for climate leaders.
Several participants explained the Roadmaps for climate neutrality of their municipalities. Also, the energy efficiency measures and use of renewable energy sources were explained. Among these, there is the creation of energy communities.
Escan presented eleven videos made for the municipalities on climate science – climate change, climate neutrality, climate leadership and communication, roadmaps in 2050 and energy efficiency and renewable topics (thermal envelope of buildings, energy communities, indoor LED lighting, electric vehicles and self-consumption of energy).
Experiences were exchanged in groups about found barriers and successful measures carried out in the municipalities.
REMARKABLE Climate Leaders will build new leadership capacity across Europe through a Climate Leadership Programme designed with and for climate leaders. Through a people-centred approach, Regional Energy Agencies will support leaders of public authorities and communities in implementing transformational roadmaps and innovative solutions to achieve climate neutrality.
