Climate Action Coordinator since April 2023, Clare previously held the position of Senior Executive Planner where she led the Planning Policy and Projects Unit. Key planning policy achievements were the development of the first ever Tipperary County Development Plan, the development of new Local Area Plans for the county’s towns under the Core Strategy of the County Development Plan, the delivery of the Tipperary Renewable Energy Strategy and visioning and funding of Urban Regeneration Plans for the County’s towns. As Climate Action Coordinator, Clare manages the Climate Action Office and has delivered the first every Tipperary Local Authority Climate Action Plan 2024 – 2029. Key to this is the ongoing roll-out of over 100 Climate Actions (including emission reduction targets) across Council services with the support of the cross-departmental Climate Action Team, helping enable external sectors and communities in their meeting their own climate action objectives and the visioning and delivery of the first ever Tipperary Decarbonising Zone centred on the National Bioeconomy Campus Lisheen, Co. Tipperary
