Mario Rajn is the mayor of Križevci, and he has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, with pedagogical and psychological competencies acquired at the Faculty of Education, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek.
As a scholarship holder of the VERN Polytechnic, he specialized in IT management. He also completed the annual program of the Academy for Political Development of the Council of Europe. He has been active as a volunteer in the civil sector for more than a decade, and is the former president of the P.O.I.N.T. Krizevci Association.
Moreover, he is involved in many charity works and has an itinerarium of a diversity of projects and events that are promoting culture, education and even art.
He was elected mayor of Križevci in the 2017 and also in 2021 elections. During his mandate, Križevci turned in a green and sustainable direction.
He participated in numerous conferences as a speaker in the field of green policies.
In 2020, he was elected to the board of directors of the European association of energy cities (Energy cities), the European association of the cities in energy transition.
